Sweet Life Cafe

Sweet Life Cafe Review

Housed in a charming Victorian house, this island favorite's warm tones, low lighting, and handsome antique furniture will make you feel like you've entered someone's home, but the cooking is more sophisticated than home-style—dishes are prepared in inventive ways (and change often with the seasons): sauteed halibut is served with sweet-pea risotto, pine nuts, and a marjoram beurre blanc, while the white gazpacho is filled with steamed clams, toasted almonds, sliced red grapes, and paprika oil. The desserts are superb; try the warm chocolate fondant with toasted-almond ice cream. There's outdoor dining by candlelight in a shrub-enclosed garden.
