On 2 1/2 wooded acres about 1 mi from the ferry, this inn's main building, a 1918 Craftsman bungalow, combines fine colonial and richly carved Renaissance-revival antiques with tasteful reproductions to create a somewhat formal environment. Most rooms have working fireplaces and canopy beds; three rooms have two-person whirlpool baths, and two have private hot-tub spas. Rooms in the carriage house, set apart from the main house via a breezeway, are more secluded. Pros: Short walk from town, antiques galore, carriage-house rooms have lots of privacy. Cons: A bit formal and fussy, antiques galore, some rooms are very small given the steep rates.
