A low-key B&B on a quiet lane around the corner from Vineyard Haven's public library, the Greenwood House is one of the better values in town. Affable innkeepers Kathy Stinson and Larry Gomez own this homey, three-story Arts and Crafts-style cottage with classic shingle siding and a shaded yard. The rooms are decorated with a mix of antiques and contemporary pieces, including brass and four-poster beds, island artwork, and functional but attractive nightstands and bureaus. It's a 10- to 15-minute walk from the ferry and even closer to many shops and restaurants. Pros: Easy walk to shops and dining, good value, personal service. Cons: Some rooms a bit small, no room phones.

Thank you Larry for a great time. Room was very clean and spacious. Larry was a great host and really helped us get around the island and plan our 2 day's there. Really good advice on resturants and places to go. Food and service was great! On top of it all great price.

My wife and I have stayed at the Greenwood House Inn on several occassions and we couldn't have found a lovlier place on the Island. Innkeepers Larry and Kathy have certainly made us feel welcome during our visits with the charm and hospitality you can only find in your nicer places.
The Inn is small and cozy (5 bdrms) with a very homelike feel. Others we have stayed at in the past have been too much like a hotel and we didn't feel as comfortable as we do at the Greenwood House. Either in your room or on the beautifully landscaped grounds, you are always in a relaxed and quiet atmosphere perfect for naps in between bike rides or sitting down with a good book.
The best parts is that it's only a short walk to everything downtown, including restaurants, shops, ice cream, etc. (Mad Martha's is the best!) The walk itself is great allowing breathtaking views of the harbor as well as the chance to see some fantastic homes and architecture.
We can't wait to return to the Greenwood House again this year as we are eager to see what new improvements Larry has made in the backyard. During our last visit, the deck was just getting started and I can just imagine what it will be like sitting there enjoying my coffee and newspaper each morning!!!
Overall, I recommend this Inn to anyone in town just for a night or two or even better, for a week. My wife and I take 4-5 vacations a year, but we will always come back to the Greenwood House. A+++
