Fodor's Review:

This 19th-century Gothic-revival inn blends the amenities and service of a luxury hotel with the ambience and charm of a small B&B. A short walk from the harbor, it's on the main road into town—but far enough out to avoid crowds. Rooms are gracious and quite large by island standards; the upper floors have dormer windows. Art and antiques help capture the island's rural, seaside charm, and many rooms overlook the spectacular gardens. The inn also runs fishing trips and charters on its 27-foot Boston Whaler. Full breakfast and lavish afternoon tea are included. Pros: Spacious rooms, afternoon tea included, easy walk to harbor yet slightly removed from crowds. Cons: Steep rates, service can sometimes feel a bit impersonal, near but not overlooking harbor.

  • Hotel Details: 17 rooms, 1 suite
  • In-room: Wi-Fi.
  • In-hotel: gym, bicycles, no kids under 10.
