The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority operates several bus services that link Cape towns. All buses are wheelchair accessible and equipped with bike racks. The SeaLine runs along Route 28 Monday through Saturday between Hyannis and Woods Hole (one-way fare $3.50, from Hyannis to Woods Hole; shorter trips cost less), with stops including Mashpee Commons, Falmouth, and the Woods Hole Steamship Authority docks. The SeaLine connects in Hyannis with the Plymouth & Brockton line as well as the Barnstable Villager, another bus line that runs along Route 132 between Hyannis and Barnstable Harbor, stopping at the Cape Cod Mall. It also connects with the Hyannis Villager, which runs through Hyannis. The driver will stop when signaled along the route.

The H2O Line offers daily regularly scheduled service year-round between Hyannis and Orleans along Route 28. The Hyannis-Orleans fare is $3.50; shorter trips are less. Buses connect in Hyannis with the SeaLine, the Barnstable Villager, and Plymouth & Brockton lines.

The b-bus is composed of a fleet of minivans that will transport passengers door to door between any towns on the Cape. You must register in advance to use the b-bus service (you pay in advance by a prepaid account system); phone the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority 11-5 on weekdays to sign up. You must also make advance reservations when you want to ride the b-bus. After you are enrolled, call for reservations 8-5 on weekdays; reservations may be made up to a week in advance. Service runs seven days a week, year-round. The cost is $2.50 per ride plus 10¢ per mile.

The Flex bus, a new Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority route, runs between Harwichport Chamber of Commerce and Dutra's Market in North Truro, with stops in Brewster, Orleans, Eastham, and Wellfleet. Riders can also schedule additional off-route stops by calling the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority. All one-way fares are $1.00, and buses run Monday-Saturday year-round.

The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority also runs the seasonal trolleys in Falmouth, Mashpee, Hyannis, Yarmouth, and Dennis. Fares and times vary; call for more information.

On the Outer Cape, Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority's Provincetown Shuttle serves North Truro and Provincetown daily from late May through mid-October, with more-limited service during the late fall and early spring, and no service in winter. The route begins at Dutra's Market in Truro and continues to Provincetown along Route 6A; it stops wherever a passenger or roadside flagger dictates. Once in Provincetown, the shuttle continues up Bradford Street, with alternating trips to Herring Cove Beach and Pilgrim Park as well as summertime service up to Provincetown Airport and Race Point Beach. It runs every 20 minutes and is outfitted to carry bicycles. The service is popular and reasonably priced ($1 for a single fare, $3 for a day pass).

The big buses of the Martha's Vineyard Transit Authority (VTA) provide regular service to all six towns on the island, with frequent stops in peak season and quite limited service in winter. The fare is $1 per town, including the town of departure. One-day ($6), three-day ($15), and one-week ($25) passes can be purchased on the bus and at Steamship Authority terminals. The VTA also has two free in-town shuttle-bus routes, one in Edgartown and one in Vineyard Haven.

The Nantucket Regional Transit Authority (NRTA) runs shuttle buses in town and to Madaket, mid-island areas (including the airport, Sconset, Surfside Beach, and Jetties Beach). Service is available late May to early September. Fares are $1 to $2, depending on the route.
