Right at Wellfleet Harbor, this ambitious little spot has some of the freshest seafood around. There's not a whole lot of seating here—just some outside picnic tables on the sand—but when you've got a succulent mouthful of raw oyster or fried scallop, who cares? You can always sit along the pier and soak up the great water views while you chow down. This place serves a vast variety of seafood, plus sushi, Mexican fare (grilled-scallop burritos), linguica sausage sandwiches, raw-bar items, and ice cream. There's also a selection of smoked fish, pâtés, lobster, and fish you can take home to grill yourself. Mac's also has Mac's Shack (91 Commercial St. 508/349-6333 Closed Mon. and mid-Oct.-mid-May), a funky sit-down restaurant in a rambling mid-19th-century barn overlooking Duck Creek, with a lobster boat on the roof.
