Fodor's Review:

In a former Coast Guard station right on the dunes, this handsome, well-placed, and nicely maintained hostel has kitchen facilities, a common area, and naturalist-led programs—not to mention panoramic views of the ocean and dunes. It's also right by the ½-mi-long Cranberry Bog Trail, which takes you by a refurbished cranberry bog and an old bog house. The dorm rooms are single-sex, and there are no curfews or lockouts—just come and go as you like. Guided kayak tours are available. Pros: Cheapest rooms on Outer Cape, mostly dorm-style with several people per room, you share common bathrooms. Cons: Fantastic beachside location, no curfew or lockout times, guided kayak tours and naturalist walks provide plenty of diversions.

  • Hotel Details: 42 beds, 2 private rooms
