Nauset Beach Club

Nauset Beach Club Review

Locals have long favored this upscale but casual trattoria on the road leading out to Nauset Beach. The kitchen produces seasonally inspired regional Italian food with an emphasis on locally harvested seafood and produce. Choose from a fixed-price option (offered daily at two early seatings; the earliest one is a bargain, starting at just $19 for three courses Sunday through Thursday) or the à la carte menu for such favorites as grilled lemon- and cracked-pepper sirloin with truffle oil and baby arugula, and pistachio-crusted rack of lamb with caramelized fennel. The off-season warms up with wood oven-fired dishes; in fall and winter, truffles appear artfully in various presentations.

Having had a poor experience with rock-hard rolls, poor service and a limited menu that didn't appeal to our taste we steered clear of this place for a while. When a group of friends asked us to join them there, I reluctantly agreed and we were sorry for our decision. The sevice was horrendous; the menu no better and the prices out of sight for what you got. None of our group felt that they would ever return.

We've had several excellent meals here. The lobster risotto is phenomenal. Nice service, comfy atmosphere.
