Roadhouse Café Review

Candlelight flickers off the white-linen tablecloths and dark-wood wainscoting at the Roadhouse Café, a smart choice for a night out. Popular dishes include the "lobster martini" appetizer with a half lobster, seaweed salad, avocado puree, and fresh mango. For dinner, many rave about the spicy Caribbean stew. In the more casual bistro and the mahogany bar, you can order from a separate menu, which includes thin-crust pizza as well as burgers and lighter fare. Listen to excellent straight-ahead jazz on Monday night year-round in the bistro. There's also a piano bar on Friday and Saturday.

    Roadhouse Café Review

Roadhouse Cafe is far too over priced for the quality of food. The food is alright but you can recieve much better food and service else where. The cheapest entree was 20 it was chicken parmigiana that was served with practically no penne and it was on a little side dish. so what you got was a slab of chicken with cheese. Disappointing. The wines and champagne were of par quality but were priced far too high by the glass (16 dollars for a glass of brut) and the glass of Pinot Grigio I received was weak. A very small amount of wine in a large glass. Their martinis were 12 dollars and if I am paying that much per drink they should at least make it strong, i would at least like to taste the vodka in it. The chicken sauté was far to buttery and rich in garlic. My mother could not finish it and it made her ill. The bar there was small and the female bartender there was less than charming. Our waitress however was very good. If you want my opinion the best food, atmosphere and service on cape cod comes from Tomatoes in Sandwhich.

    Very enjoyable, but possibly overrated

To start, we had a great time at the Roadhouse cafe, and would recommend it to others (though perhaps behind some of the other places we have recently been to at the cape). The food was very tasty, but a bit greasy (not our entrees, but the appetizer sampler was greasier than expected) and presentation was very simple. The waitstaff was very pleasant but not extremely knowledgeable about the wines and menus selections they offered. Atmosphere was somewhat schizophrenic in that it was an elegant dining locale with valet parking and yet had fish and chachkis hanging upon the walls. Value was also good, but not ideal. Particularly the wine list seemed overpriced compared to other restaurants in the area.
