An exceptionally inventive menu and a determination not to rest on its laurels make this restaurant a standout. The wood grill infuses many dishes with a distinctive flavor heightened further by the chef's use of zesty rubs and spices from all over the globe. The Thai-style crab cakes come with a sharp chili-cucumber vinaigrette, and pan-roasted sea scallops are served with smoked bacon, mixed mushrooms, and caramelized red-onion confit. The restaurant is upstairs at the Gallery Building, and many windows look out on the art below. Though the atmosphere is casual, this is not a family place; there is a deliberate lack of high chairs, booster seats, and kiddie-meal options.
