Breakwaters
At a Glance
- Excellent waterfront location, ideal for families and groups traveling together
Pros
- Hard to reserve unless you're staying for a week
- not the place for a quiet, private getaway (unless it's spring or fall)
Cons
Breakwaters Review
These privately owned, weathered gray-shingle cottages rent by the week in summer (or nightly in spring and fall). It's a relaxed place, set on a quiet dead-end lane. Cottages are divided into one-, two-, and three-bedroom units and offer all the comforts of home. Each unit has one or two full baths; a kitchen with microwave, coffeemaker, refrigerator, toaster, and stove; TV and phone (local calls are free); and a deck or patio with a grill and picnic table. Most units have water views. An in-ground heated pool is less than 200 feet from the lifeguarded town beach on Nantucket Sound. Excluding Sunday, there is daily maid service.
