This turn-of-the-20th-century Queen Anne home stands on a tree-lined street, just a short stroll from Falmouth's Village Green. The Victorian interior of Falmouth's largest B&B is pretty if slightly over the top, with heavy period furniture, endless lace, and ornate stained-glass windows -- many rooms have fireplaces. One good bet is the 3rd-floor Tower Room, which has a view across the treetops. The large rooms in the 1910 carriage house are airier, with more tailored appointments, and four newer rooms, all with whirlpool baths, are less ornate. There's a two-bedroom suite in a separate cottage (where young children are permitted). A candlelight breakfast is served, and afternoon refreshments are available. Pros: Ideal, walk to town location, elegant breakfast. Cons: With all the Victorian flourish, the smallish rooms can feel a bit overdone, most rooms (1 is ADA compliant) are accessed via steep stairs (especially 3rd-floor rooms).

Located in a phenomenal location in Falmouth, this Victorian home is the ultimate in a b&b and very knowledgeable about the area.
