Capt. Tom Lawrence House Review
A lawn shaded by old maple trees surrounds this pretty white house, which is steps from downtown yet set back from the street enough to feel secluded. Built in 1861 for a whaling captain, the intimate B&B has romantic rooms with antique and painted furniture, Laura Ashley or Ralph Lauren linens, French country wallpaper, and thick carpeting. An efficiency apartment is bright, spacious, and suitable for families, with a fully equipped eat-in kitchen. Breakfast and afternoon snacks are served near the fireplace in the common room. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful.
