Coast Guard Heritage Museum

Coast Guard Heritage Museum Review

Housed in the old Trayser Building, this museum is continually evolving and expanding. The structure itself is on the National Register of Historic Places, and the museum is filled with all things related to this seafaring branch of the U.S. military. Artifacts and displays also highlight early lifesaving and lighthouse histories, and a small shop sells related books and items. Elsewhere on the grounds are a blacksmith shop and the circa 1690 jail, with two cells bearing former inmates' graffiti.
