This North Truro beach motel complex, which sits on 52 acres across U.S. 6 from Cape Cod National Seashore, had seen better days before its owners purchased two adjacent buildings and began an extensive refurbishment and expansion, completed in early 2007. Improvements include new kitchen appliances and cabinets, tile flooring and new carpeting, and attractive furnishings. The resort also has added a new office, a restaurant serving traditional American fare, a pool, tennis courts, and a playground, and a gym and indoor pool and Jacuzzi are planned for 2008. Most rooms are along the beach, but there are also some significantly less-expensive units in a building across the road, facing the swimming pool and landscaped gardens. Two cottages are available on a weekly basis. Pros: Underwent a huge renovation in 2006, right on the harbor with great views, lots of on-site diversions for kids. Cons: A long walk to Provincetown dining and shopping, along a busy strip of motels and cottages, a rather large compound: not ideal if you're seeking intimacy and seclusion.
