Amid the mostly run-of-the-mill motels and cottage compounds along Route 6A in North Truro, this beautifully refurbished all-suites beachfront property stands head and shoulders above the rest. It's been around since the mid-1960s, but the rooms are refreshingly contemporary with tile and oak floors, modern kitchen appliances, light-wood furniture, and country quilts. Ground-floor units front an attractive wooden deck overlooking the bay, and upstairs units have private balconies with similar views. You can choose from studio, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units, and all have full kitchens, fireplaces, Jacuzzi tubs, and washers and dryers, making them perfect for longer stays. The resort also rents three attractive beachfront bungalows, called Crown's Nest Cottages, about a half-mile away. Given the prime location, friendly service, and top-notch facilities and furnishings, this is one of the Outer Cape's best values for families and friends traveling together. Pros: Furnishings are tasteful and contemporary, rooms have fantastic water views, all units have decks or balconies. Cons: A long walk to Provincetown dining and shopping, no pool, along a busy strip of motels and cottages.

I can't say enough good things about the Crow's Nest Resort in N. Truro. We recently spent four days here and had a great time. The rooms were very clean and modern. Our studio even had a fireplace - necessary for a Cape Cod springtime visit where the night temps can get fairly cold. Every room at this facility are beachfront - right outside your door! When we arrived, the views simply took our breath away. The bay with P-town and Pilgrim's Monument in the distance - amazing.
