Fodor's Review:

Set inside a handsome little Cape-style house with wood floors and a simple dining room, this downtown café serves a wide range of foods -- spinach-feta pizzas, Greek salads, curried-chicken-salad sandwiches, hummus platters, ice cream, smoothies, and a full range of coffees and pastries. It's perfect for a full sit-down meal or a quick bite on the go. Don't forget to check out the selection of fresh-baked pastries.

Heard So Many Good Things About It...

Posted by Mplj3 from Connecticut, USA on 7/20/08
Over the past 20 years of staying in Wellfleet, we finally decided to go to The Flying Fish for breakfast - we were seated quickly however without a menu. It took 15 minutes to get them and then another 40 before we got our meal. Had the server had the courtesy of telling us that they had a "10 top" before us for the small kitchen I might have selected one of the many baked goods with coffee rather than a hot breakfast. The person that seated us was different from the person that took an order for juice/coffee and yet another person brought the juice/coffee to the table. The person that took our food order had a short term memory issue and we had to repeat the order multiple times. One of the other staff members checked back in on us periodically however why did the table of 4 get their meals before us - considering that they were seated 20 minutes after us? She was having a lively conversation with the family behind us while 10 meals were put up from the kitchen and 2 other wait staff just walked by them, busy with ice for the smoothie bar and another in a daze. A bad day for them? A bad day for us - after what we thought would be a quick meal and off to the beach, we were there for 1½ hours and the Risky Fries were much too spicy (not described as such on the menu - beware!) and the french toast was less then flavorful. Needless to say we won't be headed back.
