Worth a stop as much for its verdant grounds and tranquil setting inside a rambling 1830s farmhouse as for its enjoyable (and increasingly respectable) wines, Truro Vineyards of Cape Cod Winery produces a number of excellent wines. New owners bought the winery in spring 2007 and have plans to step up production a bit, and experiment with some new vintages. At the moment, the vineyard makes a commendable Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, vignole, and several others. They also make a red table wine that's flavored with cranberries and known for its unusual bottle, shaped like a lighthouse (along with two other "lighthouse" varieties)—it's a fun souvenir.
