The largest freestanding granite statue in the country, the National Monument to the Forefathers stands high on a grassy hill. Designed by Hammet Billings of Boston in 1854 and dedicated in 1889, it depicts Faith surrounded by Liberty, Morality, Justice, Law, and Education, and includes scenes from the Pilgrims' early days in Plymouth.

A sizable statue clutch crowning a park-like hill, it's huge but tasteful. There are five statues total, one atop, the rest surrounding a pedestal-like center further decorated with carved reliefs. It's a bit of a walk from the downtown area, but very pleasant to see.
