Olde Colonial Courthouse

Fodor's Review:

The Olde Colonial Courthouse, built in 1772 as the colony's second courthouse, is the home of Tales of Cape Cod (3018 Rte. 6A, Barnstable. 508/362-8927). The historical society holds a weekly slide-illustrated lecture on Tuesday in July and August, plus special events in the shoulder seasons: in May there's a lecture during Maritime Week, and in June there's one during Heritage Week. In September, a "mystery" bus trip takes visitors to areas of historic interest. While you're here, take a peek across the street at the old-fashioned English gardens at St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
