Stores / Malls, Brewster
Fodor's Review:
At the junction of Route 124, the Brewster Store is a local landmark. Built in 1852 as a church, it's a typical New England general store with such essentials as the daily papers, penny candy, and benches out front for conversation. Out back, the Brewster Scoop serves ice cream mid-June through early September. Upstairs, the old front of the store has been re-created, and memorabilia from antique toys to World War II bond posters are displayed. Downstairs there's a working antique nickelodeon.
