Windmills used to be prominent in Cape Cod towns; the Brewster area once had four. The 1795 Higgins Farm Windmill —an octagonal-type mill shingled in weathered pine with a roof like an upturned boat—was moved here in 1974 and has been restored. The millstones are original. At night the mill is often spotlighted, which makes for quite a sight.
