At the Sandwich Fish Hatchery, the oldest fish hatchery in the country, you can see more than 200,000 brook, brown, and rainbow trout at various stages of development; they are raised to stock the state's ponds. The mesh over the raceways keeps kingfishers and herons from snagging a free lunch. You can buy feed for 25 and watch the fish jump for it.
