The privately owned Charles D. and Margaret K. Spohr Gardens, three planted acres on Oyster Pond, are a pretty, peaceful place. The springtime explosion of more than 700,000 daffodils gives way in turn to the tulips, azaleas, magnolias, flowering crab apples, rhododendrons, lilies, and climbing hydrangeas that inspire garden goers in summer. A collection of old millstones, bronze church bells, and ships' anchors decorates the landscape.
