National Marine Life Center

Fodor's Review:

The National Marine Life Center, on the mainland near the chamber of commerce office, has a small exhibit area devoted to whales, dolphins, seals, and other marine life. In summer there are marine-life educational programs for children and evening lectures about the ocean environment for adults. The center hopes to break ground on an expanded facility for rehabilitating stranded marine animals that will include a marine animal hospital and nursery, eight rehabilitation pools, and additional exhibit space as soon as the necessary funds can be raised.

  • Cost: Free, donations accepted
