Fodor's Review:
The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution is open to the public only on guided tours, but you can learn about it at the small WHOI Exhibit Center, with videos and exhibits on the institution and its various projects, including its research vessels. One-hour walking tours (508/289-2252) of the institution and its piers are offered in July and August, weekdays at 10:30 and 1:30; tours begin at the WHOI Information Office at 93 Water Street and are free, but reservations are required.
