The scene is pure country kitchen inside this gray-shingle house—from the wooden tables to the cheerful waitresses who circulate with ever-full coffeepots. Diner-style breakfasts and old-time New England specialties, from stuffed quahogs (clams) and chowder to broiled scrod, liver, and onions, and chicken pie, make up most of the menu; the daily specials offer some jazzier flourishes, such as grilled swordfish with lemon-dill butter. It's all fresh and homemade, which has earned this little house a devoted local following. Note that dinner is served only until 8 PM weeknights and until 8:30 on Friday and Saturday.
