Fanizzi's by the Sea
Fanizzi's by the Sea Review
A dependable, year-round East Ender that sits directly over the bay and offers fine water views, Fanizzi's presents a varied menu strong on well-prepared comfort food (including a memorable chicken potpie and juicy burgers), but often with a few creative twists. The baked cod is served with a tangy coating of almonds and mustard, and the hearty roasted half chicken is glazed with fresh garlic, lemon juice, rosemary, and thyme. You can order burgers and substantive dinner salads, including a fine salmon Caesar. The dining room, lined with large windows, is softly lighted and casual. Sunday brunch is a favorite with locals.

Fannizzis is not "fancy" and does not try to be. they are a family business that seems to focus on providing good meals in a clean friendly atmosphere. They have one of the best water views in town and the menu is full of options. The food is not gourmet cooking, but always very good. You can spend a lot or a little. Everyone I know who lives in town goes there and despite the fact that it is not right downtown losts of tourists find their way.... For my money one of the towns best options AND they are open year round!

This is based on a single visit for lunch so I may want to update it at a later date. The parking here is a problem in that there is very limited space, even allowing for the "overflow" parking across the street. The food was fine but the waiter messed up one of the orders. He corrected it quickly but we did lose some time. Prices were in the "fair" range and portions were large. The view, if you could get a window table, was right over the water but the tables were somewhat crowded. Generally, I would go back again if I could find a place for to put my car.

Best room -- ON the water with water views in 3 direction; best food--huge menu, great food, very large portions at reasonable prices; best service--they define consistency and professionalism; best Sunday brunch in Ptown. I just can't say enough good about Fanizzi's. Like any tourist town, some of the restaurants can be really inconsistent. Not Fanizzi's. They are the most dependable good place to eat--and year 'round!
