Buca's Tuscan Roadhouse

Buca's Tuscan Roadhouse Review

This romantic roadhouse near the Chatham border, with a vintage Ford station wagon parked out front, has crisp red-and-white-checked tablecloths and a vibe that might just transport you to Italy—and if it doesn't, the food will. From zuppe to aged pecorino, Gorgonzola, and ricotta salad with figs to veal with red wine, balsamic butter, sun-dried cherries, and roasted tomatoes, this is mouthwatering Italian fare taken far beyond traditional home cooking.

We have had the rare pleasure of dining here over a dozen times. We have NEVER been disappointed. From the time you walk in the door to a sincerely warm welcome, in a setting similar to Tuscany and food and service that are outstanding. It is our favorite resturant on Cape Cod and we eat out 3+ times a week from June thru October.

We have been here at least 5 times. The first 4 visits ranged from excellent to very good but our last one convinced us that we have better things to do with our "dine out" money than go back for a 6th time.

We had a reservation for 2 for at least 2 weeks prior to our visit. When we got there we were seated on the side of a hallway where everyone entering or leaving the dining room had to brush against us. WShen we asked for another table, even though the dining room was half empty, we were told we had to stay put.

The service was mediocre to say the least and it looked like they had jacked the prices well above what we were used to. Possibly we just hit them on a bad night but I won't chance it again.
