A rambling red 1915 house that once was host to Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, this small, luxurious inn has been completely refurbished after several years of neglect. Most of the airy rooms afford bay views, and all are fitted with big plush beds with high-thread-count linens, goose-down comforters, and pillow-top mattresses. Other luxe amenities include radio-CD players, phones with voice mail, and high-speed Internet. The Cape Light Room contains a decorative fireplace with an ornate hand-painted fresco, and the secluded Chauffer's Cottage has a living room with a soaring vaulted ceiling and a sundeck with far-reaching water views. The restaurant offers some of the best bay views in town. Pros: Charmed and peaceful West End setting, closer to national seashore than most P'town accommodations, ultra-posh rooms. Cons: Among the highest rates in town, far West End location is a long walk from most dining and nightlife, not geared to children.
