Anita and Joe Sangiolo—she's a former actress and he's a retired engineer—have turned their comfortable 1922 home into an equally comfortable B&B. The eight rooms are done in a cheerful country style, with quilts, four-poster or iron beds, and pine armoires; four rooms have ocean views. The adjacent carriage house has two modern suites, each with a bedroom, separate living area with gas fireplace, in-room laundry and kitchenette—these are available on a weekly basis. Beach chairs and towels are provided (the house is a block from the sand), and Joe has put together a meticulously detailed notebook of things to do. Film buffs take note: one of the two guest parlors has a TV-VCR and a collection of classic movies. Pros: Walk to beach, quiet area, gracious, helpful innkeepers, many ocean-view rooms. Cons: Not an in-town location, rooms on 2nd and 3rd floors via stairs.
