If you'd like to sample the traditional fare of New Bedford's large Portuguese population, friendly, unadorned Antonio's serves hearty portions of pork and shellfish stew, bacalau (salt cod), and grilled sardines, often on plates piled high with crispy fried potatoes and rice.
