This restored, beautifully decorated 1846 farmhouse on historic Route 6A is offers a romantic getaway. The Main House features four exquisite guest rooms and a stunning parlor with cathedral ceiling where you can relax by the fire. The separate Orchard House was built in 1988 and includes three spacious, modern guest rooms and two deluxe suites, all with deluxe baths. Weather permitting, a three-course breakfast is served on the patio overlooking a swimming pool and two acres of landscaped gardens.

Room

All nine rooms have unique layouts and luxurious amenities. In the Main House, a fireplace is the focal point in one guest room, and another has a king-size canopy bed and sliders that open onto a private deck. Four guest rooms, furnished with authentic and reproduction antiques, fireplaces, and whirlpool tubs, are in an adjacent carriage house. Robes, Turkish towels and triple sheeting are standard.

Tip The inn works with local massage therapists to offer en suite spa treatments.

Bathroom

All rooms have private bathrooms. Some have showers with rainforest heads, while others have whirlpool tubs. Artisan soap from the Bumble Bee Studio, homemade lavender spritzers and salts made in the inn’s kitchen are included amenities.

Lobby

The lobby/dining room has a fireplace, with a couch and chairs, plus the dining table where breakfast is served. Guest can relax here with a book or a beverage.

Pool

A lovely pool, surrounded by landscaped grounds, a gazebo and lounge chairs, is a great perk.

Dining

A three-course gourmet breakfast is included and features fresh fruit, herbs and vegetables from the inn's garden, as well as dishes like homemade wild blueberry pancakes. Raspberry jam-making in the summer is a tradition. Coffee, tea, lemonade and iced tea are always available. Cookies or cake is put out in the afternoons.

In the evenings, port and sherry are offered.

Restaurants

For an upscale evening, Chillingsworth (7-minute drive) is a lovely French restaurant in a gorgeous 17th century property. The Brewster Fish House (5-minute drive) is another excellent fine dining venue. For a classic fried seafood experience, try Kate’s (12-minute walk), where you can dine at picnic tables or take your food to go.

Bars

The Woodshed (4-minute drive), is a lively spot for drinks and nightly live music in season. The Chill Bistro and Bar (7-minute drive), also located at Chillingsworth, offers a specialty martini list and bar menu in a more casual setting.
