Provincetown

Bissell's Tennis Courts (21 Bradford St. Ext., east of Downtown Center. 508/487-9512) has five clay courts and offers lessons. It's open from late May through September.

Provincetown Tennis Club (288 Bradford St. Ext., east of Downtown Center. 508/487-9574) has five clay and two hard courts open to nonmembers; you can also take lessons with the resident tennis pro.

Wellfleet

Wellfleet maintains several tennis courts at Baker's Field near the town pier. Call the Recreation Department (508/349-0330) for fees and reservations.

Oliver's (U.S. 6, west of Downtown Wellfleet exit. 508/349-3330), which has one Truflex and seven clay courts, offers tennis lessons and arranges matches.

Chatham

Chatham Bars Inn (Shore Rd. 508/945-0096 Ext. 1155) offers three waterfront all-weather tennis courts, which are open to the public by reservation for $15 an hour. You can also take lessons and visit the pro shop.

The town maintains two public tennis parks, one on Depot Road next to the Railroad Museum at No. 153 and the other at the middle school on Crowell Road.

Brewster

The Ocean Edge (2907 Main St., [Rte. 6A], East Brewster. 508/896-9000) resort has five clay and six Plexipave courts. It offers lessons and round-robins and hosts a tennis school, with weekend packages and video analysis.

Run by the town and open to the public at no charge are four public tennis courts,all just behind the fire and police stations on 1673 Route 6A. Two basketball courts are also available for public use.
