Head of the Charles Regatta. In mid-October, sculling crew teams compete in the world-famous Head of the Charles Regatta. Working Waterfront Festival. New Bedford's commercial anglers, celebrating America's oldest industry, cast their nets and strut their stuff at the Working Waterfront Festival, showcasing their skills, fresh seafood, and singers of fado, Celtic, chanty, Nordic, and folk.
