Fodor's Review

Attune your ears to the rare sounds of theorbos, sackbuts, viols, rebecs, and shawms! Join the 15,000 dyed-in-the-wool early-music devotees who visit Boston each mid-June in odd-number years, when the biennial Boston Early Music Festival takes over the city for a week-long cavalcade of performances: opera, orchestra, chamber, solo recitals. Featured in 2015 were The Monteverdi Trilogy and Jordi Savall's Hespèrion XXI. The Festival also produces an annual concert series of medieval, renaissance, and baroque performances and master classes at the usual venues.
