Fodor's Review

Over 15,000 dyed-in-the-wool early-music devotees visit Boston each mid-June in odd-number years, when the biennial Boston Early Music Festival takes over the city for a week-long cavalcade of performances featuring rebecs, viols, shawms, theorbos, and sackbuts, among others. Types include orchestral, chamber, solo recitals, and operas. Featured in 2013 were Dame Emma Kirkby and Jordi Saval's XXI.
