Baraka Café Review

Tiny Baraka may be atmospherically challenged, but after a few bites you won't care. Chef-owner Alia Rejeb was born in France and raised in Tunisia—a fact reflected sharply in her menu. Imagine New Zealand baby lamb chops marinated in ras-el-hanout and served in mint sauce (m'katef), or a spice-laden flourless chocolate torte, served with fruit compote. Make a meal from the selection of small plates or try an entrée of couscous or marinated vegetables. No alcohol is served.

    Unusual spot

One of very few North African spots (Tunisian, with French influences) in the Boston area. Very good and unusual food, try the lemonade with rose petals. Decor is rather functional, seating can be tight, service can be hit or miss. Still, worth finding.
