The Blue Room

Updated 11/13/2013

Fodor's Review

Totally hip, funky, and Cambridge, the brightly colored Blue Room blends a host of cuisines from Moroccan to Mediterranean with fresh, local ingredients. Try the wood-grilled lamb with ratatouille, or the whole roasted catch of the day with salsa verde. On Sunday, you'll find an extraordinary brunch buffet with grilled meats and vegetables, along with regular breakfast fare and scrumptious desserts. Next door, sister property Belly Wine Bar offers wine flights and small bites of Italian-style tapas, cured meats, and cheese.

Fine brunch

Arguably the best Sunday brunch in Cambridge, with traditional and eclectic dishes and lots of them, done well. Service is fine, atmosphere pretty good for a basement level place. Also serves dinner.

Blue Room outdoor summertime lunch grill

I work in the area, and love Blue Room's "grill" at lunchtime. It's much more affordable than their usual prices, tho I am big fan of the brunch & feel the cost is worth it. For lunch, you get a choice of entree (salmon is good) and two sides (like the greens and cuke salad). Seating is outdoors with a few shaded areas, but not many so get there before noon if you want prime seating, as it's v. popular. The only service is when you order.

Brunch at the Blue Room

We went here for their sunday brunch. It was excellent. There were many choices, including breakfast foods, seafood, chicken, ribs, salads, ect. The desserts were so good-try the chocolate banana bread pudding.Service was fair-we had 2 ask everytime we wanted more coffee.

Blue Room is worth a try...

I went here for dinner last Friday night. It was very nice. I had the rotisserie chicken. Delicious! It's expensive, but worth the money. Good wine list. Service was average. A nice place to go to for a special occasion, an important client to take out, or if you have a date you want to impress.

The best of Cantabrigian funk

This restaurant is the best in the People's Republic of Cambridge. Whether you agree with the neo-socialist politics on the other side of the Charles or not, Cambridge can be a very fun, interesting, and funky place. The best restaurant in town, and the one that IMHO best captures the off-beat funkiness of Cambridge, is The Blue Room. The food is delicious and inventive, the atmosphere a very relaxed chic, and you can show up in jeans if you like

(but please, at least sport your best pair).

What a treasure!

Lived in Boston for 6 years and had not dined here until recently. Staff was wonderful and attentive, menu lovely, dishes excellent. We'll have to catch up on years of missed-dining!
