¢-$, American, Cambridge
Fodor's Review:
The best sandwiches start with stellar bread. Here, a range of breads are made on-site and sandwiches are given odd names like Bill's Seoul Show (chicken, bacon, and tarragon mayo on corn bread). The service matches the noontime rush: brusque and slightly harried. But once you get through the line with your daily soup and a Mahatma Gloves (curried-chicken salad with cashews) you can join the neighborhood regulars at wooden, communal tables and take in a noisy but comforting slice of Cambridge life.
