Sel de la Terre

Sel de la Terre Review

Sitting between the waterfront and what used to be the Central Artery, this is a hot spot to hit before the theater, after sightseeing, or for a simple lunch downtown. The rustic, country-French menu features items like steak frites with red wine-shallot reduction. Stop by the boulangerie (bread shop) to take home fresh, homemade loaves, which are some of the best in the city.

We had two very good dining experiences here. One with just my husband and myself, the other with 3 generations of family. The food, the presentation, and the service were very good. I would definitely go there again.

An excellent choice for French food, arguably the best option for this cuisine in a mid-price range. First rate food and service, pleasing decor; boasts arguably the best bread basket in Boston. Kid friendly as well. Other locations in the Back Bay (Boylston Street) and Natick. A must.

My husband and I only had a few minutes for lunch in the area, so we grabbed the daily special from the bread shop and a fruit cup. It was a very good value and tasted great. All ingredients were fresh; the fruit was perfectly sweet. The night before we left town, we stopped back to grab muffins for breakfast the next morning. Althought the selection was limited (it was pretty close to closing time) everything still tasted fresh and delicious!
