$$$-$$$$, Back Bay
Fodor's Review:
Oops. You meant to book the big Marriott Copley Place across the street, and you mistakenly chose this one? No worries. Some call this the best Courtyard by Marriott they've ever seen, praising its modern, upscale, and large-for-Boston rooms. They don't mind that the lobby isn't grand, breakfast is a self-serve affair, and room service consists of a handful of menus to nearby eateries. This property opened in 2004 after extensive renovations to a turn-of-the-19th-century historic building. Rooms in the 10-floor tower are spacious and filled with traditional, unfussy furnishings. Small niceties include cookies and fruit in the lobby. You can't beat the location: Prudential Center and Copley Plaza shops and Back Bay restaurants, galleries, and boutiques are all within walking distance. Pros: Good-size modern rooms (nicer than the "big" Marriott, some say), great location, free Internet. Cons: Restaurant is fairly lame (reader tip: get the cheapest room available and eat elsewhere); no room service.
