Christopher Columbus Park (Waterfront Park)
Christopher Columbus Park (Waterfront Park) Review
It's a short stroll from the Financial District to a view of Boston Harbor. This green space bordering the harbor and several of Boston's restored wharves is a pleasant oasis with benches and an arborlike shelter. Lewis Wharf and Commercial Wharf (north of the park), which long lay nearly derelict, had by the mid-1970s been transformed into condominiums, offices, restaurants, and upscale shops. Long Wharf's Marriott hotel was designed to blend in with the old seaside warehouses. There are sprinklers, a playground, and even free Wi-Fi. In September the park is home to the Boston Arts Festival.
