Christopher Columbus Park (Waterfront Park) Review

It's a short stroll from the Financial District to a view of Boston Harbor. Once a national symbol of rampant pollution, the harbor is making a gradual comeback. This green space bordering the harbor and several of Boston's restored wharves is a pleasant oasis with benches and an arborlike shelter. Lewis Wharf and Commercial Wharf (north of the park), which long lay nearly derelict, had by the mid-1970s been transformed into condominiums, offices, restaurants, and upscale shops. Long Wharf's Marriott hotel was designed to blend in with the old seaside warehouses. In September the park is home to the Boston Arts Festival.
