Intensely fragrant Italian specialties and a pretty dining room are the draws here. Local chef Anthony Susi has a steady hand with pastas and gnocchis, and he can also render fine "secondi" courses, such as rabbit Milanese with saffron risotto. Sit at the bar and graze through the menu of small bites like Kobe bruschetta or crispy duck leg. Brunch is served Sunday.

South End neighborhood Italian place (a transplant from the North End a year or so ago). Excellent and creative dishes, pleasing service and decor. Well worth a visit. Located much closer to the Silver Line's Union Park stop (right next to it) than to the Orange Line's Back Bay/South End stop (several blocks walk).

I moved to Boston from Sanfrancisco last year and finally found my place just a few blocks from home! I've been to Sage twice in the past month and it was great from start to finish. The kobe carpaccio and gnocchi in truffle butter were oustanding, remined me of Rome ! Definately up to par if not better than the best Italian places in Boston
