Legal Sea Foods Review

What better place than the waterfront, only steps from New England Aquarium, cruise ships, and whale-watching boats, to build one of the snazziest branches of the local Legal Sea Foods chain with outdoor seating in the warmer months? In a dining room full of colorful tiles and sea-inspired sculpture, you'll find all the classic and contemporary seafood preparations served in other branches, including fresh oysters, creamy chowders, seafood bisque (there is a light clam chowder for health-conscious diners), crispy fried clams and scallops, wood-grilled fish, and that buttery crumb-topped stuffed lobster. The Vegetarian Box, featuring Thai curried veggies and tofu, is a thoughtful addition for the seafood squeamish.

Good seafood, if not the best

Part of a large chain. Maybe not the best seafood spot locally, but still a good option. Food generally good (probably the best place to get the really thick kind of New England clam chowder), rather expensive, OK service. Probably the best location locally of this particular chain.

    The Best Lobster in Boston

I had the best Lobster I have ever had. It was stuffed and wieght about 3lbs. Service was great. They also have the best wine prices in town or in any town I have ever seen. I loved it.

    I was slightly disappointed

The restaurant was very nice, clean, great atmosphere. I had raw oysters for the first time!! They were great. Overall the food was pretty good - I was very disappointed in the clam chowder (go to Union Oyster House for this!) - it lacked flavor. My biggest disappointment though was in the preparation of the fish - a restaurant this big and well-known should get temperatures right the first time. We were served 2 pieces of Well-Done tuna. It was quickly replaced with a wonderfully cooked Medium Rare piece, but as I said, a place with such a reputation should not have made such an error.
