Fodor's Expert Review Village Smokehouse

This stalwart Brookline Village BBQ joint with a little bar in the back has been literally luring customers in by the nose (you can practically smell it from the Brookline Village T stop) since it set up shop nearly 30 years ago. In recent years the vintage plastic checkered tablecloths have been replaced by wooden tables (albeit with red-checkered tops) and more upscale decor. But, the ambience is still a tribute to sauce-drippin' BBQ chicken and ribs, right down to the plastic bibs and rolls of paper towels on the tables. Bottom line: expect to get messy. Enjoy!
