Fodor's Review

Café society blossoms along Newbury Street, particularly at Sonsie, where a well-heeled crowd sips coffee up front or angles for places at the bar. Lunch and dinner dishes, such as charcoal duck breast and leg with brown rice and five-spice turnips, are basic bistro fare with an American twist. The restaurant is a terrific place for weekend brunch, when the light pours through the long windows, and is at its most vibrant in warm weather, when the open doors make for colorful

people-watching. A downstairs wine room meanwhile offers more intimacy. The late-night menu (nightly until 12:30 am) is perfect for after-hours cravings.

Hipper than thou on Newbury Street

A popular "hipper than thou" spot on Newbury Street (a street with mostly overpriced and weak food, usually paired with a view of some sort) that has been known to attract pro athletes and the like. Not an essential place, but better than several other options in the area, food's OK if a little pricey and service can be pleasant or not. Nice view of the street from the front if the host will deign to let you sit there.
