This place has jumped to the head of the class by keeping things simple yet effective. (The litmus test: local chefs gather here to wind down after work.) Try the succulent turkey meatloaf off the regular menu or the tomato roasted eggplant offered on both the vegetarian and gluten-free menus. The vibe is generally more that of a bar than a restaurant (hence the many bartender awards), so be forewarned that it can get loud. The wait for a table (there are only 7 booths
and 2 tables) can be downright impossible on weekend nights, and desserts are not served. On the upside, food is served until 1:30 am and cocktails until 2 am.

One of the best restaurants in Boston's South End, and one of its least pretentious. Terrifically good food, a favorite of local chefs when they get off work. Often crowded, and you may end up eating at the bar, which dominates the space. Respectable pricing and decent service. A must in this area.
