Fodor's Review

At the corner of two avenues (Commonwealth and Massachusetts), which is how this restaurant got its name (deux is French for "two"), you'll find this snazzy, dark-wood enclave serving sophisticated combos of local ingredients, like lobster gnocchi with grapes and walnuts, which sounds odd, but works beautifully. Chef-owner Chris Coombs, who recently opened the steak house Boston Chops, is the culinary mastermind behind this self-described "neighborhood restaurant" that's garnered a following far beyond its Boston zip code. Coombs's juicy spiced duck with lentils and Port, along with his pistachio-crusted lamb are as irresistable as his friendly personality and winning smile. For tipplers, the thoughtfully crafted wine list offers an interesting mix of bottles priced affordably.
