Fodor's Review

This sweet Cambridge spot offers 18 rooms each decorated (some a little too much) with Victorian aesthetics in mind. Guests can choose between old-school B&B charm and contemporary hospitality. The original property, a restored 1892 National Register of Historic Places house, has richly carved cherry paneling, a grand fireplace, elegant antiques, and polished wood floors overlaid with Oriental rugs. Its antiques-filled guest rooms come with fabric-covered walls, four-poster canopy beds, and the standard New England doily decor. Rooms in the new part are decidedly less frilly, and outfitted with single-color paints and furnishings. Harvard Square isn't terribly close, but public transportation (bus) is available nearby.
